A Boston Meteorologist, a Dog Wingman, and a Giant Shoe

When award-winning weatherman Tevin Ray Wooten and Chaz Edward Glick said "I do," the forecast called for an unforgettable wedding.

On a random October Sunday during the pandemic, Tevin Ray Wooten stood in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park with his loyal wingman, five-year-old lab mix Radar, when he caught Chaz Edward Glick’s eye. Though Tevin gives the adorable pooch most of the credit for the meeting, sparks between the couple were undeniable. They spent the day together, exchanging Instagrams upon leaving. Casual DMs turned to texts, and it was clear the connection was becoming stronger. Nearly a year into enjoying time together (in between Tevin’s jetting off to chase the next storm for his job in meteorology), their budding relationship took a leap of faith—Chaz moved to Boston, eventually taking a job as an English language arts instructional coach for Boston Public Schools.

Then came the perfect surprise. After secretly blocking off the area and telling Chaz they were attending an influencer event, Tevin proposed on View Boston’s observatory deck in November 2023. When “Amazing” by Teddy Swims began to play, he dropped to one knee. Hidden friends soon appeared to celebrate before a private dinner at Beacon Bistro.

An Emmy Award–winning meteorologist with NBC Boston, Tevin ordered up picture-perfect weather on July 18, 2025, for the couple to wed at the Langham Hotel, Boston, in front of 130 loved ones. The celebration flowed from private vows and a first look with the “I Do Crew” (the wedding party) in the Wyeth Room to cocktails at Grana, a ceremony in the Lincoln Ballroom, and a lively reception with putt-putt, glow sticks, and confetti. Today, Tevin and Chaz are ready for new adventures together—no matter the forecast.

THE FLOWERS

Bryan Finocchio and his team from 33 Munroe Events used hydrangea, ranunculus, and lisianthus, as well as Tibet, Eskimo, and spray roses, throughout the festivities, adding a few surprises—like disco-ball vases and pocket boutonnieres—to set them apart.

The set is accented with white flowers, green leaves, two silver bracelets, and a wedding ring placed on one of the vow booklets.

THE INVITATIONS

The couple wanted something “quirky” to excite their guests beyond traditional white stationery. They worked with Etsy artist Virginia Brown on the suite to include the Boston Marathon finish line (the couple’s first marathon), TD Garden, and other meaningful locales.

THE CEREMONY SET-UP

“A circle was perfect because it’s a powerful symbol of unity, eternity, and love,” Chaz explains of the central stage location. “It represents the bond of love and support that surrounded Tevin and me [on that day] and is a reflection of what [we’ve] built together and what all our chosen community helps uphold.” The custom-built white stage and circular floral design made it feel as if they were encapsulated by flowers, adds Finocchio.

THE BEAN BOOT

As a lark, the grooms invited brands and celebrities to their nuptials (think Taylor Swift, the Red Sox, Michelle Obama). They were surprised when L.L. Bean said yes. “One theme of our wedding day was to expose guests to different eras of our lives. We were able to [show] them the biggest New England surprise…the Boot!” To keep the local love going, they gifted each guest with an L.L. Bean tote bag.

THE CUSTOM BRACELETS

Instead of traditional rings, the grooms chose matching tennis bracelets. Local fine jeweler Hannah Florman was up to the challenge to design and create the couple’s one-of-a-kind 14-karat white-gold tennis bracelets—Chaz’s with 7-carat roundcut diamonds and Tevin’s with a 10-carat emerald cut.

THE SIGNS

The event’s handmade signs were designed to imitate the iconic Massachusetts town signs and designated sections of the celebration, from the gift table to the lobster-roll station. “‘Our First Date’ was placed at the taco station because tacos are our favorite food and what we had on our first date,” Chaz explains. “A Taste of Our Roots” heralded the pulled-pork-sliders station, highlighting their Tennessee and Arkansas roots, while “Our Weekend Morning” was displayed at the donut wall to showcase their typical weekend donuts-and-coffee routine.

THE PUTT-PUTT

“No one likes a boring wedding,” Chaz laughs. “We didn’t want wallflowers or people to feel isolated.” Golf enthusiasts, the couple enlisted a neighbor to cut wood for two putting greens, and Tevin designed flags to mirror the wedding décor. They hand-painted tees and balls that guests took home.

THE HANDWRITTEN NOTES

The special day was filled with a tremendous amount of love from friends and family. To reciprocate, the couple shared their gratitude in personalized handwritten cards displayed outside of the reception for guests to collect upon entering the ballroom.

THE DANCE PARTY

The reception was packed with high-energy surprises. The personalized glow sticks by WoosterCo were crowd favorites that guests kept as mementos. “Halfway through the night, we had a shoe change to pairs of Nike Blazer ’77 high tops,” Chaz recalls. “We timed our reentrance to go off with the confetti and give another boost of energy.”
